    Greetings

Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL.
  2. There is an acknowledgment about Heathers death in the book . I wondered if the book would appear this year but noticed it in the Works book shop last week. Costs £3 there too.
  3. I have a 90 which I use as a grab and go scope. It is surprisingly good for the money. I mount it on a photo tripod, but as it comes with a fixed Vixen style mount you need to buy a suitable head for the tripod.

    Hello from Essex

Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL.
  5. Sounds very interesting Peter. Of course it is clouded out here as soon as any decent activity appears.
  6. Nice shots David. I finally roused myself about 13:00 to take a look but nothing of note to see . A small feint prom and that was it.
  7. Very interesting read Victor. I just read your post after being out setting up to observe Mars later tonight. I have been using an ED 120 the last few nights, but tonight I decided to setup my 8 inch Dob. One reason for this is that I have an equatorial platform to sit it on which will keep Mars in view for about 1/2 an hour, but after reading your post I checked my logs and I have not used the Dob since last December. I now much prefer the views through a frac. I have an ED 72 and like you I really love it. My circumstances are different from you of course. I am under no pressure to sell the Dob and do t think I ever will. However the advice that your best scope is the one you will use is much more appropriate to your circumstances. I think you should sell it and get a bigger frac.
  8. Very nice images. Not had a chance to look today and now it is clouding over.

    Hi from Ireland

Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL.
  11. Yes it was difficult visual as well. Today’s disk is even quieter.
  12. The Sun’s disk is even quieter today than yesterday. Only one very small prom observed. Come on cycle 25 let’s be having you.
  13. Sorry a rogue post above. I don’t know where it came from lol I was trying to suggest the book Canon EOS 60D for dummies that’s available on Amazon
  14. I buy this every year. It sits on my bedside table. I often have a look before I go to sleep so that I can dream about what I am missing due to the permacloud.
  15. Lucky you. I was up in the highlands last week but only cloudy skys. Hope you have better lucky.

    Hi

Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL.
  17. First day light clear sky for almost a fortnight. Not much activity showing. One large prom on the oncoming limb near the equator. Just nice to get out in the sunshine again.
