My tribe of green and black continues. I really like the delites. The image given is sharp and clear and just looks so “ natural “.

The green and black tribe continues to grow. Having got the 5 and 18.2 mm delites I was so impressed with their performance I decided to add the 11 mm to my set.

Using the auxiliary coder is supposed to decrease the accuracy of the go to. It enables freedom find, but I think it’s worth a try. Also making your last movement when centring an object a move to the right and up does make a slight difference in accuracy.

I think your unit must be faulty. I really don’t have these issues with mine. Go To targets are always in the field of view and usually pretty central. The more targets I look at the more accurate the go to is.

Hi David. I believe there is a point and track function with the GTi mount. I have not tried it myself but I will have a look later.

Not sure about this. I have only used the North level alignment. After set up you still have to align 2 stars. I have found that this has always put the alignment stars in the field of view. I centre accurately using a reticle eyepiece and have then found the go to to be very accurate.

If you are using the North level alignment then the scope must be level to begin with.

Hi. I have the equivalent SW Mak and the image is fine. Perhaps your neighbours is out of collimation. Try a star test if you get the chance.

I assume these are both achromatic fracs. They will both suffer from achromatic aberrations to some extent, but these should be less in the longer focal length. Which telescopes are you considering ? Also the quicker scopes ie shorter f ratios are considered better for astrophotography .

Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL. It is better to use a 90 degree diagonal because it is much more comfortable when viewing at high altitudes. The more comfortable you are when observing is important but a 45 degree diagonal can be used at a push. The different types of diagonal that you can use are often just a choice of personal preference but erecting diagonals are not favoured because they add an other layer of glass to the light path which will reduce the amount of light getting to your eye. Mixing makes of eyepieces is no real problem and most of us do. The advantage of sets of the same make is that they are often parafocal ie you do not have to refocus when you change eye pieces
