Well it's started already

New interest - new way to spend lots of money !

Bought a 90mm Skywacher refractor with EQ2 - nice I thought..... then considerd portability for treks to the fields where I live and ended up a week later with a shiny new (with digi focus display) William Optic Megrez 72 which of course needed a 2" star diagonal (carbon fibre natch !) and a red dot finder.....

William Optics - Megrez 72 Doublet APO

Tell me I have done a good thing !!

I assume we've all done this and it will only get worse....

Hooray !!:)

Yes! You done a very good thing. :(

And yes this appears to be the standard route:-

1) find nice kit

2) buy nice kit

3) clouds roll in or (optionally) use the kit on a clear night.

4) get aperture fever and go back to 1)

:)

Welcome to SGL.

Hi, Dove - welcome to the lounge.

You seem to have picked up the essentials of how the equipment bug works with no trouble at all.

When I took up the hobby, I was looking forward to a cheaper equivalent to my continuing obsession with photography (non-astro so far). Hah!! :)
