Asi462 from @Knighty2112 (thanks again!). Going to test against the 224 as I’ll be more properly sampled.

Would be interested to see how they compare, I purchased an ASI 462, and wondered after viewing some comments, whether I would have been better off with the 224 due to the larger pixel size, and resultant longer optimum focal ratio.

Postie dropped off a couple of BST Starguider 15mm that I want to try in my binoviewer. I also bought a dew heater for my Telrad. At present I have 2x 26mm Vixen silvertop plossl’s, 2x Morpheus 17.5mm, 2x BCO’s 18mm and now the Starguiders. I am unsure how short of a focal length would be best for the planets. I guess it’s trial and error.

Wow, two Morpheus 17.5s! That should give you a fantastic view.

You can always mess around with Barlows to find your ideal mag.

Looks suspiciously like my 4mm Nirvana. Likewise my Nirvana set is for doubles (in the 102) 👍

I have read that maybe its the same eyepiece under a different name I do hope it performs good in my scopes.

It will. Other than the 16mm having some field curvature and astigmatism they are very sharp, especially in the centre where you need it for doubles.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Baader 8-24 zoom come with both 1.25 and 2" adapter?. Mine did.

Yes, Luke, you're correct, they do. However, mine came in great used condition, but without its' original 2" nosepiece..the price reflected that so I was happy to look for one and fortunate to find one quite quickly.

bits continue to beget bits...

Starwave side by side mount arrived today.  This should help minimise issues with trying to mount a guide camera to my various lens setups.  Also got a 12V male to male cable so I can power the camera off the GEM28 mount and reduce the number of sockets/cables.  After lunch I'm going to print up an enclosure to hold my NUC on the middle and that should help tidy everything up a fair bit!

I may live to regret getting this O-III filter as a 1.25" - time will tell. Rationale for the 1.25" is to try and use this in one side of a binoviewer to "wink" small star like PN. Searching here and Cloudy Nights i see a few posts where this way to "blink" a nebula filter is proposed but i haven't really found any success stories from actually doing it. I didn't want to get into a filter slide and i don't want to hold a filter in my hand so we'll see. If its too dim in one side of a BV i can use it mono at 1.55 degrees and 3mm exit pupil later this year so will get two goes at getting use from it.

Having just been outbid for a 17.5 Morph on the bay, I think there should be a law that no-one can own two until everyone else gets to have one.

Morphi’s law?

Why I did not buy one of these when they could be had new is a mystery to me. I bought all the other Type 6 models new, and have been waiting (and missing a few classified ads) for someone to part with theirs for some time, now. Collection finally complete.
