new solar setup, added a starwave 102 classic f11 to my rig, a lovely scope "thanks Gus" got it yesterday and its like brand new. image scale should be great with this little scope, ill show you if these clouds disappear.

Welcome to the starwave club charl.. think they're fantastic scopes! Looking forward to the images your going to post..! My starwave consistently throws up good images and visual views, im sure with your experience and that quark youll get some cracking rewarding time with it!

Very nice. Just googled the scope specs. At least we know who to blame weather wise. 

Sorry I don't know much about solar imaging. Do you slap an ND filter on the input and then various narrow band filters on the output. How d'yer use it in other words?

thanks Ouroboros, I use a Daystar Quark Chromosphere H-alpha filter with the 102 and a lunt solar wedge with the ed80 for Whitelight, thay both work very well. clear skys, charl.

That look a perfect set up Charl, the two scopes on my want list, have just bought the ed80 myself.

You said white light on the ed80 with the Lunt wedge, is that with your dslr or visual?

heres the firstlight, only 94 frames, in cloudy skys, I'm well impressed. trying to catch the spike at the mo but its raining but I'm not giving up . charl.

I'm liking this new scope, ive broken the cloud curse but it still raining but you have to give them chance to realize

thanks Alan, I use the ed80 for both mate, the little ed are wonderfull scopes ive even had half decent shots of Saturn with mine and 4x barlow. clear skys. charl.

Looks very promising Charl. Saw the spike myself this morning in a rare gap, chucking it down now.

heres the best I could do with the spike through a rain filter sorry its not too good but could be the best I get today, had to have a big frame cul. I'm done for the day, happy with my first light with the conditions. its nice to have another f11 to play with I think where going to get on fine just got to think of a name for it. clear skys, charl.

Some nice gaps between the heavy showers. The spike is poking out again and there is a thin bank of plasma hovering above the limb near it. On the opposite side of the disc there is a large detached prom.

I think 'they' aren't noticing Charl. I've had 5 outings since I bought the Mak from Jules and it's clear again now so I think you'll be alright mate
