How are you liking the 120Ed, i am thinking about trying to raise the funds for one

I am liking it Jules :0)

As a solar white light scope it excels and it's great on doubles too. Easily allows the Cassini division to be seen in good seeing even currently with Saturn low in the sky.

It's a fair old lump though and really needs a counterweight on my Giro 3 for smooth operation.

I do like the look of the Megrez. Might have to scratch that itch one day

It's the only one that would look good as furniture also, which is important if you're going to leave it accessible for quick deployment outside and don't have a garage :)

Those carbon fiber ones are too military tactical for in-house, and other white telescopes don't have WO classical matte white powder coating .. They're gloss !

Edit: only ones in that price range is what I meant to say...  Those Taks are beautiful also !

Lucky boy. I get funny looks if I leave an eyepiece on a shelf on a bookcase never mind a whole scope and tripod in the sitting room

It's interesting to see how many of us are using Alt-Az mounts. :icon_salut:

Anyway here's my TeleVue Ranger alongside my 'modded' ETX105...

...it's the best photo I have of it to date.

There maybe others, but I think they are on a Linux (Debian 3.1) HDD or CD-ROM!

Laservet, that must count as mental cruelty, showing us all those gorgeous scopes with no chance of looking through them ;)

Lovely collection!!

The guide scope is a pretty nice little scope. I was repeatedly asked to take an open spot in the 180 f7 production run (~$8K back in those days, a real steal), declined thinking I could get one from a later run.  Next chance I had for a 180 f7 it was $35K used and way outside my range.

I've touched a 206 EDF...

Holy smokes, there are some amazing pieces of kit on this thread! Love it :)

I spent a few months rebuilding this large (massive infact!) Bresser Achro last year, but have had numerous issues with lens cell collimation (the lens cell was totally borked when I bought it). I have just done another rebuild of the cell a month or two ago but I've since moved countries and it's had to go in storage, so it still hasn't had a proper first light :( I may be fixing that by buying a small APO/ED while I'm here :)

This was it at the end of the first rebuild:

I picked up this Helios 150 f/8 on Ebay yesterday and collected it this morning. Here she is sitting on EQ6 legs with a 16" + 12" pillar extensions and a Giro III mount. I replaced the standard rack and pinion focuser with the Crayford from my ED100 but intend putting a dual speed upgrade on it soon.

I managed to get a 30 second glimpse at the Sun through my Baader wedge and a 41mm Panoptic and it was simply stunning. Looking forward to getting a longer session with it this evening

My new dual frac system, Explore Scientific 80/480 triplet and Robtics 80mm achro guidescope on a dual plate.

quite humble compared to the systems of some people I've seen in this thread but looks amazing with all the gear on!
