Hello, I just subscribed to this forum!

My name is Marco, I'm from Milan, Italy, and I'm a stargazer since the famous Hale Bopp comet came visiting us, more or less :)

I'm mostly a visual observer, but I also like lunar/planetary imaging, and I'm a software developer, so I'm very interested to astronomy software, and sometimes I write it too (my best astronomy application so far is SkyPlanner, I'm going to write a little introduction soon in a new topic).

Light pollution is quite bad... I don't know about 30 years ago (I'm here since 2008), but we have to move away 200/300 km to see a somewhat dark sky :(

Still, this gives us the chance to see some really beautiful views from alps, in spring/summer time, and I'm really looking forward to the next new moon exit :)
