im interested in astro photography i havent yet aligned the scope and wondering do i need to have the telescope in the exact same position every time i go out or do i just align it each time and go from there??

also once ive found my target do i then go in to auto tracking ??

Welcome to SGL

On the AZ mount the scope will be fine for planetary and lunar/solar imaging, but not for DSOs where you need to follow exactly the apparent motion of the stars across the sky to allow for longer exposures.  The AZ mount will track, but the field of view will appear to rotate as it moves across the sky.

It doesn't need to be in the same position each time.  Aligning each time you go out will be fine.  Once you've found your target it should track automatically.
