Hi all,

Been lurking here for sometime and finally thought I should say hello.

Been interested in star gazing for many years, I have lost count of the number of freezing nights I spent in the back garden through my teen years. However other interests soon got in the way and I found other things to do on a night out;-)

Recently I have moved to Buxton and the dark skies there along with my very inquisitive 7 year old son has rekindled the interest to explore the night sky.

I have dug out my old scope, a 60mm refractor bought from Argos for about £40 sometime around 1985 and while it is very limited in capability, my son and I have enjoyed evenings out following Jupiter and it's moon's.

I'd like to get a new scope soon, something we can both take our interrest further, but in the mean time I hope to pick up some knowledge and also enjoy some sociable banter.
