Hi from Southampton

Hi all,

I am Martin and im in Southampton UK. It is so orange here at night I am sure that the town has been tangoed. Luckily I am out towards the forest.. which is still orange.

Astronomy has captured my imagination for many years, seeing Halley's Comet in the night sky at the age of 11 way just amazing and has left me in wide eyed wonder ever since.

After finding some dark skies last summer and watching the Perieds Meteor shower streak overhead I decided that it was time to get some new and shiny gear together.

I very much enjoy tinkering with wide field DSLR shots but I feel the need to move on to planetary observation next.

To that end I have picked up an HEQ5 Pro and am 95% settled on ordering a Skymax 180 Pro to pop on top.

After reading many posts on the forums I have to say what a fantasic and friendly bunch you all are,
