Just a quick hi to everyone, no idea about astronomany at present but the wife got fed up with me looking at the stars through my binoculars and gave me the go ahead to spend some monies on a scope its a Sky-Watcher Skymax-127 EQ3 PRO, I should get it by the 30th hopefully by then I should get some clear skys and start on my new adventure.

Hi and welcome to the forum. To help you prepare for the scope's arrival, you might want to download some free planetarium software called 'Stellarium', you can view it here. Lots of great features to help you learn the sky, to find and identify objects and there is a great advance date/time feature that helps you plan your observing session by showing what objects will be coming and when. It can also be configured to your exact viewing location.

hi and welcome and a adventure it will be the moon for a start should keep you going for years,for imaging,this scope will do well with planets and the moon and some deep space with the right kit

can not wait to read your first light with the scope

Thanks for the advice James, getting a bit excited must admit, also spoken to a friend who is a keen photographer who is looking forward to taking some astro photos.
