A house for the Dob :-)

While I've been away working, Amanda has been busy, and built this great home for the 12 inch Lightbridge, which used to occupy the corner of the dining room.

Now we can simply roll it out of it's house onto the balcony....no more lugging it in and out and having to re-collimate every time ;)

Many thanks to my great wife :D

Cheers

Rob

Great job Amanda I can see the orders coming in thick and fast. Mind you Rob, the last time I saw a little house like that was in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when the Major was airlifted away singing, "The Capital Life For Me" and we all know what happened in the end - so go careful and stay away from anyone offering you free lollipops!!:D:D

James

(Now living on hush-a-bye mountain sucking on his toot sweet:eek: Rob I do hope you have seen that film otherwise you will think I have lost it AGAIN!)

Looks good. I've just gotten myself one of them scopes but it currently lives with me in the lounge.

Close inspection of your piccy seems to show wheels attached to the dobs base. Are these lockable castors, or do you end up chasing the dob around the balcony everytime you manually slew?

Hi Martin,

Yes it has locking wheels, but have never locked them.... it doesn't run away but is easy to move into it's home.... Don't they all have wheels then?

Amanda.

I too do the DIY around here. Tim did some of the heavier jobs like building walls and pig sties and concrete bases. But ATM he's not up to it, which is why I've done all the concreting lately including my observatory build and concrete path and step out the back of the house. Mind you. I wouldn't have trusted him to do my foundations and pier :)

Nice to see you here Amanda ;)
