Which 3X Barlow?

Im looking for a 3X barlow to use for planetary imaging any one have any recommedations?

The Tal 3x is supposed to be good or a Televue 3x.

Televue are good, alternatively the TAL gets good reviews. Also worth considering (but costly) are Powermates.

I found the Antares 3x (Japan) better than my Tal 3x (which wouldn't fit in my 2"-1.25" adapter for starters).

But the TV gets the big nod.

Do you think a 3X Barlow will be enough for planetary imaging with my 120ED FL 900mm? Or should I go up to a 4X or 5X?

Errm, You list a C9.25 in your signature. Why wouldn't you use that for planetary imaging?

James, where seems to be the problem in matching a C9.25 with 3x? i got myself a 5x, but is too powerful and and i dont have enough "rolling" space for focus know (and no budget to get a bigger eyepiece)....

Another vote for the TeleVue 3x - I've got one and very pleased with it.

Can't go wrong with TV for top of the range models. Tal is good at the "value for money" end. Good middle of the range is the Celestron Ultima but it's only 2x.

Another option is the UO Klee x 2.8 barlow. I occasionally use it instead of the x2.5 powermate for solar observing...

I've not had the opportunity to play with mine yet as the weather here has been less than suitable for the last couple of months. With my Mak though I just put an extension tube into the back of the barlow if I need more focus travel.

You could also consider the meade 5000 3x telextender, there is a review somewhere on the web. Around £90
