  1. Thanks I will order one of these adapters then👍 I had a cigarette style 240-12v 5 amp output. Turned everything on . The powerbox actually turned off whilst I was sleeping at max speed. Must have dropped below 10v or something. Will prob buy the Pegasus mains supply swell defo need more juice.
  2. Some state 20 Volts but is that the max rating or what goes in comes out but no greater than 20 Volts?
  3. Can you show me the one you used? 5volts there's tons of them. Or 2.5mm?!
  4. I messaged pagasus astro and they have one in the pipeline will be on sale soon apparently. Alot of the ones I'm seeing are 5v plenty of them... Not the 12V ones though.
  5. Will the 2.5mm jack be ok? Not many around with the 2.1mm jack and USB C around?
  6. Need to find an adapter to go from the Pegasus power box 12 volt outlet 2.1mm jack make jack to my mini pc usb C to power it. Does anyone else have this set up if so what cable are you using?
  7. Hello I ordered a Pegasus power box micro, there is no power supply in the box? I'd thought it was supplied with a cigarette style one? I noticed online their dedicated mains power supply is £60??? Why so expensive? Must be something cheaper available to do the job? How do you power yours? Thanks
  8. Hello is there anything available on the market like a clamp that will clamp on a HEQ5 tripod leg so i can mount a powerbox and mini pc for example i have access to a workshop so can make base just need something to clamp round the leg solidly. Iv got velcro etc but would like something a bit more positive with no change of falling off.
  9. Hello Iv mounted my mini pc to the side of my mount, do you think this will cause any issues. It's right on the axis of rotation so hopefully not weighting the mount to one side. ? Anyone else done anything similar?
  10. Olly I totally understand. And I hope your health is ok. Kind of miss looking up into the black abiss on my own from a remote site. Totally get your point. I used to make sure my 5 min subs weren't hampered by clouds etc. And make sure my wee netbook was ticking along well enough I never had any issues ever using that dl set up so I suppose your right. All the best Duncan.
  11. Olly as much as I respect you and keep you in the highest regard as one of the best imagers on here, for the last 10 years iv been an 'outside cold and dark sky' imager (prob not the best one self admittedly due to the cold') you can see the irony in this. I used to live 3 up in a flat/ apartment. Have all my gear packed in Alu cases. Bring some hot soup and sandwiches and set out on a 1 hour journey to my favoured dark sky. When I had free time I used to make a day/night of it. The cold beating me only. I think the remote imager it's turned me more into a computer student! My background is heavy engineering. I know more hours on a target give better results... and if you can do that when your asleep is a bonus. For sure. I'm going to pursue the remote computer set up. Do miss looking at the sky from a dark site and making a day of it. Even if my images are hours shy. So.... Got a house with a garden so trying to image with remote laptop to my mini pc. Do have a desktop but upstairs it's windows 7 and old. Appreciate what your saying about reliability though.
  12. Will work 50% of the time if I first run simulator then switch to zwo asi cam? My qhy has worked flawlessly for years and years on old computers. But old computers never last forever.
  13. Hello Does anyone have to hand the driver for this asi 120mm camera. I think it's an older zwo version, Iv tried downloading from the zwo website. Iv now tried this camera on PhD2 on a Windows 11 pc and windows 10 laptop both with sharpcap, camera just won't work properly.... I'm assuming it's to do with driver?
  14. For some reason PHD 2 doesn't like my asi 120mm camera? Iv got my old qhy 5 camera working on PhD2 no bother. Can I get rid of my st-4 cable on this setting as it won't work on the normal QHY camera setting as I think it's too old. Suppose the proof is in the pudding when ever the next clear night comes. Thought someone on here may know?
  15. Hello I'm currently trying to.modernise my imaging rig. Iv recently bought a mele quiter mini pc. Which has x4 usb ports. Iv currently got X1 connected for my guide scope, X1 for my Atik main imaging camera, X1 for my mount through ascom. Now I'm thinking off adding an electronic autofocuser and electronic filter wheel. Which I'm assuming will require another x2 usb connections? Any way round this? Most pcs don't have more than x4 usb Ports or am I missing something?
