I think you've nailed it, the centre looks light and the surrounding gas has just enough punch.

Go for one with a flip out screen, that might narrow down the options a little. The 600d is reputed to have a good sensor for astro.

Depending on seeing conditions faster is better, 1/125 will do you good. Last night I polar aligned, pointed at the moon and set to Lunar tracking and it stayed dead centre. No idea of the ins and outs of video, plenty of recent threads of moon shots, enough info there to give you an idea.

From what I gather many use video and stack the best percentage of shots. For single images you'll want short exposure time, maybe ISO400 and under expose as necessary. It's pretty bright and easy to blow out the lighter areas. Also might be worth tweaking the focus a smidge to try and get better all round crispiness.

Are you looking for Canon mount lenses ? If so then there are a whole load of reasonable Canon, Samyang and others. For £200 best to hunt around the second hand markets. Samyang 14mm F2.8 manual focus, Canon 50mm f1.8......

I like it, colour is good and not oversaturated, looks very natural.

Maybe clean of all the olive oils and try either PTFE, Silicon or a Teflon lube spray.

Had the same problem figuring out which to use on my 250PDS, the one with the cap looks to be the one I use. -
Wonder if everyone with a laser pointer put together a synchronised effort they might be able to blow one up.🧐

You might be able to take a little off each but you risk weakening those areas.

If anyone's not happy with cobbling together bits and pieces, I could probably make up counterweight bars. All i'd need to know is the bar diameter and length, thread diameter and length, also if you want a screw in stopper at the end.
