  1. Nice image and its showing more nebulosity than mine. Just thought that it could be the ruddy great white street light the other side of the house that didn't help me. Also might try reprocessing later, see if that makes a difference.
  2. I think I'm Bortle 4 or 5, looks like i'd need darker skies and really clear viewing to get anything better.
  3. Thought I would try to get some subs of the Pleiades to see if I can pull out any nebulosity. Couldn't get my iPolar working (idiot settings in Lat and Long) so it was a bit hit and miss. Just used my Canon 80d and SkyGuider and hoped tracking would be close enough. Managed 145x30s subs plus BD&F's. Surprised how little I could stretch out of the final stacked image used Siril and my first attempt with Gimp.
  4. Quick update, Trius now seems to work and I can capture an image with the GPCam3 but still no looping. Get an error message: get_Temperature error. Unspecified failure. And Ekos just quit on me. ARGGHHHHHH!
  5. Hi all, I seem to have a major problem. Set up all my gear (SX Trius 694, GPCam3 224C, mount, focussed, filter wheel) for testing over the last few days and I could connect and take sample exposures. Looping worked fine etc. Hauled it out last night and couldn't connect to the Trius, connected to GPCam but it only took 1 shot on looping then seemed to freeze. Hooked it all up again indoors and I can connect to everything but I just cannot seem to get any exposures from either camera. I can however set the cooling on the Trius. Running it all through KStars and Ekos on a Mac Air. Can anyone help?
  6. Lovely image, I think you've nailed the natural colour balance.
  7. A good effort, not seen star flares like the brighter ones before.
  8. Interesting snapshot, could it be a meteor tumbling as it hits atmosphere then stabilising?
  9. Much better with less purple, looks like colour balance varies between different computers.
  10. Thats really good, I like the mauve colour rendition.
  11. That's just spoilt it for me, 🙄 I was getting over excited at your thread title.😆
  12. Very nice, good balance of colours.
  13. You will need to stack them and convert to tiff, Deep Sky Stacker is free or Siril, ASTAP and a few others.
  14. Good start, looks like a giant cosmic bat.
  15. Shouldn't need a reducer with either as the FOV is pretty wide. This is a handy tool https://astronomy.tools/calculators/field_of_view/
  16. Nice image, hope you get some more good data to add soon.
  17. Nice capture, wondering if you can make a time-lapse from your subs.
  18. I think its a great contrast in colour, cornflower blue Bode and red/green cigar. Very nice.
  19. Thanks @discardedastro, am thinking of using PHD2. So far I seem to have everything running, just got to try and tidy up all the usb cables and wait for the skies to clear.
  20. My Altair 80mm Maxi Scope is convertible between EP/diagonal and guide cam. Took a few minutes to figure it out though.
  21. Great rant, i'm just getting started with my AZ EQ6 Pro and at least that has a USB port.
  22. Looks lovely and sharp, hope you get enough other data to add to it.
