  1. The trouble many have is that imaging shows up so many more stars that it makes picking out the constellations or specific stars difficult unless you really know what to look for.
  2. Cheers mate, didn't actually do that much processing. So could be balanced and refined more. Heres the stacks if anyone wants to experiment. light-FILTER_H-A-BINNING_1.xisf light-FILTER_OIII-BINNING_1.xisf light-FILTER_SII-BINNING_1.xisf
  3. Lovely crisp details, I like the bright fringes opposing the dark clouds.
  4. I think you have OCD, Observing Collection Disorder. Lovely set of scopes.
  5. That looks really tall, well caught.
  6. Hope you haven't overspent, we don't want another hurricane.
  7. Ekos certainly does have a few bits of weirdness. Wanted to take some flats the other night after an imaging session and it kept trying to calibrate them starting at 15 minutes !!! Found out that you have to turn off INDI then restart it.
  8. Excellent shots, especially with a Tampon.
  9. Very nice, colours have come through well.
  10. Excellent images of lovely proms.
  11. I think one that everyone would want would be a 10x zoom telescope, imagine 400-4000mm FL !
  12. Well done, I think I like 1 and 3 the best.
  13. I would say practice a bit more with the phone and getting focus spot on, then consider a more dedicated camera. You've done well getting a glob first up, so carry on and enjoy.
  14. Cheers Dave and DOH! Can moderators move this thread, I clicked on the wrong section.
  15. I quite like that idea, virtual hand control for searching and other options. For greater accuracy you could link to a computer for polar alignment or plate solving.
  16. Thanks Gina, looking at the colours there definitely seems to be more blue (Oiii) in the outer arms along with a lot of green (Ha) in the arms but it looks like a reasonable amount of red (Sii) in the centre. It's just something that has been niggling at me with loads using Ha on galaxies but no one doing the rest (except maybe NASA).
  17. OMG, that has really surprised me at how well the tube rounded up. Glad there were no creases.
  18. Just got round to playing with the NB subs of M101. Thought I'd try experimenting to see what pops up. I took 6 x 12 minutes of Ha and Oiii plus 6 x 18 minutes of Sii. Stacked and processed in Pixinsight. NB_M101_Drizzle.tif
  19. That's a lot of stars ! Looks great. Might be worth posting up a larger tiff file so it shows up bigger on screen.
  20. You got 'em but your LP on the chain must be pretty bad. Ring looks good, maybe add more data when skies are good.
  21. Mono would require getting filters but I think is more versatile.
  22. Both the Pro kits are pretty much the same, Ioptron has built in rechargeable battery, SW uses AA's or mains. IOptron has optional iPolar version for better/easier polar alignment. Both would benefit from using the Williams Optics base.
