  1. The conditions were so different today from what Saturday was like. The seeing was clearly now where near as good, wish i had time to get the 120mm out so i could do a comparison between the apertures. Managed to drag a little detail out of one of the runs i did, but this is as good as it got. Still some granulations visible, but compared to Saturdays view 🙂
  2. Sounds fantastic, is imaging earlier in the morning an option for you. Before the temperature has started to rise?
  3. Plenty of promise there going forward i think Neil, some really nice details visible.
  4. Beautiful scenery and Solar close up. What a back drop for astronomy, what are skies like at night light pollution wise?
  5. A fine set of images there, some exquisite details visible
  6. Beautiful view of that Granulation, i tried again today but the seeing was very poor.
  7. Where did that eight years go? Not only was the cloud spoiling things today, but the seeing was dire as well from here

    Hello

Hi welcome to SGL from Pete in Bedfordshire
  9. Home made mounted baader 3.8 filter, approx aperture 190mm
  10. The temporary filter for the C9.25 paid off this morning i think. Conditions were not perfect still, but i think the results speak for themselves. These were captured at a very long Focal length, using a X3 Barlow so probably a bit over F30 (7000mm). Very pleased with the Granulation on display. Getting a couple of discs cut so i can increase the diameter of the filter from 190mm to 200mm. Takes a lot to please a miserable old Echo And The Bunnymen, but these did make me smile a lot 🙂 🙂 🙂
  11. A fine set of images
  12. Unfortunately missed it, i was imaging earlier and had to pack up
  13. Good to see you back Roger, very nice set of images
  14. Very nice disc, starting to look a little bare after all the excitement of this week.
  15. A fine collection images, always good to see some Ca-K images as well
  16. Love it, what a stunning capture. The Granulation is superb!!!
  17. Great collection of images, you have had a busy week!
  18. Its been fun, see you when you return in a couple of weeks!
  19. Very nicely captured, looks very dramatic right on the Limb
  20. Not much in it, they all look pretty good to me.
  21. I would have a very long think about exactly what you want to image. Solar system objects require very different methods to Deep Sky Objects . That said you can do both with the same scope. Plenty of planetary/Moon images are captured with fast Newtonian telescopes, that are more than cable of capturing Deep Sky Objects as well. It is the methods that are completely different. If i could only have one scope it would probably be a Newtonian, even though i recently sold the one i had 🙂
  22. Definitely an area worth watching as it rotates out of view, it has produced a lot of flares already
  23. Been watching as well, hopefully another chance to grab an image or two as well. Forecast is not great for Sunday unfortunately though, but either should ok for the Mercury/M45 flyby 🙂
  24. How big are the files, even with my SSD hard drive, my laptop is quite slow on large white light images. Particularly the full resolution discs i have doing
