  1. Very nice, try stacking the separate subs in SIRIL...you'll get an even better image You can download the Seestar script for it too
  2. 2hrs worth of exposures
  3. First attempt & only 33min of data
  4. Have the same lens & also a novice. My best shot so far was using dark frames, 5 x 15 seconds lights, 10 darks same exposure, stacking in sequator & finish up in Affinity & the best until last Topaz denoise....fantastic software I use for portraits, wildlife, macro etc....well worth purchasing if you don't already have it. Very good shot you got too...
  5. A little better than the last one. 5 x 15 second exposures....
  6. Seeing was not the best, but happy with what I got. MAK127 & 6 images stitched with MS ICE
  7. Slightly sharper than my last attempt....still a bit fuzzy though. MAK 127 & ZWO 224mc

    Belated hello

Hi, I'm Jeff. Started this hobby properly about 2 years ago & as I work a rotation of 4 weeks on/4 weeks off, the practice is sometimes slow 😀. Split my time between Middle East (work), Southern Kenya (my home) near Tsavo Park & UK (my other home). I only have my scopes in Kenya, so there are gaps in posts SGL has been a great place to gain inspiration, & some of the images I've seen here are absolutely amazing! The crowd here are friendly & willingly share advice from years of experience. Thank you Hoping to progress however, as l'm 3° south of the equator I have to settle with my humble Skywatcher AZ GTI (which is pretty cool for the price) until I suss out how to polar align when I can't see the north or South Pole stars 😅 Thanks, & take care
  9. 6 images stitched with Microsoft ICE. Hoping the sky is clear for the full moon.
  10. Cheers. ZWO 174mm, sharpcap, best 30% of 2000 frames, Autostakkert, slight sharpening in IMPGG, Topaz denoise & Affinity photo....
  11. Well impressed with the MAK 127! 👍
