  1. Are all the batteries exactly the same ? as even in-brand differences may well show up as different charge rates etc....
  2. If you've got something similar to this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4S-12V-30A-BMS-Li-ion-Cell-Battery-Balanced-18650-E-bike-UK-seller-UK-stock/324180327170 then the system should lessen the charging current when the particular battery has reached full charge, so check that your wiring is correct. I've used lower amperage versions of these boards, to balance the charging of lithium batteries, as used in hand power drills...
  3. that's why I linked to the power supply off Amazon... They are small enough to be ty-wrapped to tripod legs etc. then together with some step-down regulators, to power the lower voltage requirements e.g. DSLR\micro computers etc... The one thing I would recommend is that you replace the output connector with a more robust, lockable solution, that is part of your power distribution system.
  4. First of all, before buying anything, try and work out the total current you'll need for all your equipment, at the nominal 12v. If it comes to approx. 3A, I would then recommend at least doubling that to 6a, to ensure you have enough headroom.... Personally I wouldn't use any step-up converters, as the basis on which they operate, may cause unforeseen issues by inducing high frequency crosstalk into 'delicate' systems, but I do use step-down regulators... For my garden pier system, I run everything off a standard 500 Watt PC power supply, this not only drives the local PC, but mount, cameras, focusers etc.... Then at Star Parties I use standard power bricks like these https://www.amazon.co.uk/JnDeeTM-ADAPTER-Transformer-Monitors-Powering/dp/B071VW5R3P/ref=sr_1_29?crid=2L1AY0W5B061F
  5. Not yet, but then I haven't for the last few, as I turn up a week earlier, but this time I will when Lesley gives the all clear....
  6. Well I'm just twiddling thumbs, I even have most of the non-astro gear already packed in the trailer.....
  7. I always ensure all failed prints \ off-cuts \ whisps etc. are all bagged in a paper bag & put into our (Runnymede) recycling bins, which are collected every other week. If I was living in Rhondda, Cynon, Taff (Birth Home), they are even more strict, and would fine you, if you put anything that could be recycled into the wrong receptacle.....
  8. Absolutely, but no more 🙇‍♂️ .... sorry Stub
  9. Have a read through this https://www.java.com/en/download/help/version_manual.xml Also which version of PI have you installed ? and as Its Win 10 have you given it all the permissions to run ?
  10. Version of JavaScript ?? Post the image & I'll see if I can process it, as it may be the image is at fault ??
  11. The world is now your oyster.... as far as little things & repairs of broken bits are concerned
  12. And I use a 200+ year old bake stone, but that still doesn't mitigate the fact that it and their production entailed the destruction\burning\polluting the environment.... And I'll quite happily admit, that 3D printing can also be as bad for the environment, and can be argued that it is more wasteful and even heavily toxic....
  13. and how did the zinc fence panel, hammer & anvil actually get made... Oh by destroying\burning\polluting the environment....
  14. Instead of milling away an ally block, just get some 50x150 3mm ally angle & drill holes accordingly, or print one using one of the designs on Thingiverse\Tinkercad etc. or even knock one up in OpenScad, it took me all of 30 mins in OpenScad, and I can easily mod the design for other ota's ....
  15. I use mine with "MyFocuserPro2"'s, both Robert's and my own PCB layout, & it does make it a lot easier having a plug\socket arrangement for both the temp sensor and stepper drives, so I only need to run both cables from the base of the mount (electronics) up to the OTA...
  16. I use these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DS18B20-Temperature-Probe-Sensor-5V-2m-Cable-Waterproof-1-Wire-Flux-Workshop/122628774993? and then fit a standard 3.5mm phono stereo plug....
  17. As Rabbie Burns said "The best laid plans of mice and Men"....
  18. It seems we pollute any environment we (as a species) inhabits.... It wouldn't be so bad if there was at least some form of clean-up operation, even on paper, but as there is now so much junk, dating back the last 30~40 years, with just more being added, by all nations, and some not even being declared, so I'll wait for the inevitable pile-up, and the showering of the earth of the debris, some being radioactive\toxic...
  19. Now, how do you shoot the damn things down ..... 🤔
  20. I use Autodesk's Eagle, but in freeware mode, (https://www.autodesk.co.uk/products/eagle/overview?referrer=%2Fproducts%2Feagle%2Foverview) it limits the size of PCB that can be created, but is a very good router with a large symbol\parts library...
  21. I've just printed one with 40 M of filament, which is a small fraction of a 1Kg reel....
  22. 🤣 That may be a little excessive, but yes, it's relatively easy to manipulate the design.....
  23. I hate to say it, but if you have a 3d printer you can print one of the 'Boa Constrictor' opener in a few hours....
  24. .... I've just come across a new series on Youtube, which I found not only fascinating, but also filled in some gaps in my knowledge of the period. Roman Britain - The Work of Giants Crumbled
  25. Instead of 'wasting' resin, try & print in PLA to ensure the correct fit\spacing, & then print in resin when happy....
