  1. Very nice, now you've started me thinking about making something similar for my scopes.
  2. I use an A4 LED tracing board with 3 sheets of white A4 paper between, it has 3 settings and it was fairly cheap. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KLY84NB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I do give it a little turn after I've taken a few flats, I don't know if it makes a difference.
  3. @Endolf that certainly doesn't look acceptable to me, I'd be asking the vendor for a replacement. If that was the same I'd return it and get my money back. I'm pleased I've seen this as I was considering getiing one of these or the GEM28 for a lightweight setup. I too have the EQ6R-Pro and after a bit of tweaking there's virtually no play in the gears. I shall wait to see what others say when they start using theirs.
  4. @Rustang It looks pretty good to me.
  5. I have bought 3 ZWO cameras and not one of their USB cables have been any good, why they supply such poor quality cables when you are spending a considerable amount of money on the camera is a mystery to me.
  6. @Tomatobrois that a William Optics 90mm Saddle Plate where the dovetail plate is attached? https://www.firstlightoptics.com/william-optics-brand/william-optics-90mm-saddle-plate-for-vixen-style-dovetail-rails.html
  7. @Droogie 2001 I have the PPA and it annoys me that I can only use 3 of the USB ports as none of my equipment will work in port 1, which is USB3 only. I therefore have to connect my mount directly to my laptop, this is not a big issue as that part of the mount doesn't move that much. Hopefully when I get round to buying a dedicated Astro-Camera it will work in that port, maybe others on here are already doing so and can let me know.
  8. @Greg Shaw according to the specs on the Pegasus website they are "4 x 12V DC Power outlets for your equipment". I have had no issues with my mount running via the PPA so the 12v must be sufficient to run the mount.
  9. @Greg Shaw I power the Pegasus PPA from either the Nevada PSW or the battery, depending if at home or away. I then power my mount, camera, focuser, dew shields etc. from the PPA.
  10. @Greg Shaw I have the same setup as you EQ6R and Pegasus PPA, at home I use a Nevada PSW-30 https://www.firstlightoptics.com/power-accessories/nevada-psw-30-25-30a-switch-mode-power-supply.html On the rare occasion I go somewhere remote I used to use an old lorry battery someone gave me but now I have 90AH leisure type battery.
  11. @tooth_dr It should be a concern that's 50% more. 🤣
  12. @JamesFsorry my point was not very well put on reflection, I agree with what you have said there is no benefit to performance in having the extra memory due to the size of each frame. It was stated that why is the ZWO £300 more expensive for what is basically the same camera, same chip etc. and I was saying it also had a larger buffer, that will in effect cost more even though memory costs are certainly a lot cheaper these days than when I started buying it.
  13. Also doesn't the QHY have 4 times more buffer memory?
  14. I like many are probably waiting to see what the early adopters think of these new cameras once they have them and used them a while. I would like to buy either as I would like to get into mono imaging, but at this price point I want to be sure I'm getting as good a product as is being promised by each manufacturer.
  15. It's a longtime since I've done a firmware update, so I maybe wrong, from memory I believe you have to run the FWUpdater as administrator. If not ask on the ZWO forum.
  16. @FLO will you be doing a bundle deal with filterwheel and filters like other mono cameras, or will they appear after the earlybird offer has finished?
  17. @Peter_D Sorry but can't help it as I do it for a living, have you cleared cache and cookies? If that doesn't work have you power cycled your PC? 🤣
  18. Happy New Year to @FLOand all SGL'ers, here's hoping to a much better 2021.
  19. @StarGazerRandomGuyHi welcome to SGl, could I suggest you remove your home coordinates or remove the last part of them, you could be telling someone you have a nice expensive shiny toy at your address.
  20. where in the UK do you live 😉 nice picture by the way.
  21. I've been contemplating making a portable power box so I can take my mount to a dark site, a friend gave me an old lorry battery that no longer turns the engine over but will hold some charge. My intention was to get a nice enclosure and build something that looked professional like a few other members have created on here, unfortunately spare time is limited so I went for a simpler solution and created the following and it works very well.
  22. @AbsolutelyNdid you use any filter during the captures?
  23. That combination does look promising as we seem to get so few clear nights these days. Shame they don't do a black RASA as I could pretend it was my Skymax 180 pro 😉
  24. @AbsolutelyNthat can't be M45 it looks nothing like the one I took of it 😟 on a serious note that is amazing, I suspect my 450D doesn't quite grab as much signal as your 2600.
