  1. A lot are waiting eagerly for tne AZ75 release bit when released by Rowan it will be spot on. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Not being well for a couple of weeks has stopped any testing of the AZ100 motors, not to mention the bloomin weather, but will be getting back to testing in the next few days. πŸ™‚
  2. The Planet is now rated at 130kg with the double leg clamps so more than I’ll need. The Graviton is a crazy price. £££££££££££££ πŸ™€πŸ™€πŸ™€
  3. I wonder what this beast of a tripod is like. https://www.berlebach.de/en/?bereich=details&id=593#
  4. Yes you can’t help but think that TV has lost interest in the scope side of the business. The eyepiece side must be a lot more proffitable. πŸ€”
  5. I thought the Uni tripod was really solid until I moved to the Planet. Now I know what rock solid really feels like.
  6. You only have to see the flood of visual doublets hitting the market now to show how out of touch that statement is about there being no market for them. Dare I raise the subject of TV undercits. 😁
  7. Going to start with some single frame images comparing the 462mc and the 290mm to get a feel how they compare on the moon.
  8. Frustrating but as you say just have to be patient. After being laid low by a bug for a little while starting to feel like getting going again.
  9. Fogged out here for the third night in a row. Grrrrr 🀬 Oh well at least you’re getting very nice results. πŸ‘πŸ»
  10. With the OO the alt bearings make great handles to pick up the tube
  11. Fog, fog and more fog. Can’t see across the street let alone the moon or anything else.😒
  12. Not going to be putting anything out tonight I think.🀬🀬🀬
  13. Just realised that the images for the puck are different although supposed to be the same item. https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p10691_PrimaLuceLab-AZ-EQ5-PLUS-Adapter-Plate.html
  14. Get the Primaluce plate and then you can fit pretty well any dovetail saddle. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/dovetails-saddles-clamps/primaluce-lab-az-eq5-plus-puck-adapter-plate.html
  15. A 12.” dob is a nice size. Big but still not too big. Had a 14” but just got very little use so sold it on. The OO 12” dob would be a good choice if you can find a used one.
  16. As a lot of Lacerta stuff seems to be made by Synta could be made to order for Lacerta to their own design.
  17. The Baader Steeltrack is more durable than the Moonlite and a very popular high end focuser in Europe and the UK. German designed and German quality control applied before shipping from Germany. Best thing I’ve found short of a FeatherTouch and then not a huge difference.
  18. The forgotten project with all the coverage of the JWST. I posted info on the Nancy Grace Roman telescope earlier in the JWST thread but not much notice was taken.
  19. As I will be mainly using the CC8” f/12 the 462 and 290 will be ideal matches.
  20. The ZWO ASI462MC is a good budget lunar / planetary camera and just within your budget. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/zwo-cameras/zwo-asi-462mc-usb-30-colour-camera.html For purely lunar the ZWO ASI290 MM would be a bit better but a bit over budget. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/zwo-cameras/zwo-asi290mm-usb-3-mono-camera.html Recently bought both. The 462 for planetary and the 290 for lunar. Will be using the 125 f7.8 APO and the CC8” using the AZ100 GOTO.
  21. Came across this on CN. https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/379902-diy-telrad-repair/
  22. Now discontinued and replaced by the LS40.
  23. Good for you. πŸ‘πŸ» Nothing doing here at the moment. Forecast says completely clear but looking out the window tells a different story. 😒 Will it clear later?
  24. Opticstar are now the sole importers of Coronado but look like they are still backordered.. https://www.meadeuk.com/Coronado-SolarMax-III-70-Solar-Telescopes.html
