  1. I have been banging on about the potential of this scope for a while now and glad to see that others are liking it too. 👍🏻
  2. Yes the thing I noticed about the scope was how sharp on axis it is compared to an SCT or Mak. Just has that edge. Now if the clouds will just go away for a bit. 😁
  3. Very nice.👍🏻 Completely clouded out here last night. 😢 Can’t wait for the TS LED collimator to arrive although hoping for early Jan.
  4. One of the big potential problems with plastic or polymer lenses is that as they age they tend to yellow and darken. BTW plastic is a specific type of polymer made up of long chain polymers whereas polymer is made up of smaller more uniform molecules. All plastics are polymers bit not not all polymers are plastic.
  5. Hoping to do a bit of lunar imaging over Xmas with the AZ100 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
  6. Great pair of bins for astro use. Can actually make out Saturns rings with them. Very sharp optics with built in field flatteners. 👍🏻 Only thing I didn’t like about them was the hard eye cups but that’s an individual thing that doesn’t affect performance.
  7. 365astronomy normally stocks it so waiting for them to let me know when new stock arrives. 👍🏻
  8. Think I’m going to stick with plans to get this when back in stock. https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p11188_TS-Optics-2--LED-Collimator-for-RC-Telescopes-and-all-other-Types-of-Telescopes.html
  9. Corrected my earlier post. The Pro version isn’t needed for collimating RCs etc. However found this post on CN.
  10. I blame it on Rowan for sending out their AZ100 motor beta test upgrades. 😢
  11. Wonder exactly what the difference is between the standard and Pro versions? 🤔 EDIT: Removed ref to Pro needed for RC etc.
  12. Been reading the Ocal Pro manual. More to this system than I first thought. 🤔 http://www.ocalworld.com/en/PDF说明书/OCAL Electronic Collimator PRO user's Manual.pdf
  13. Just fit the eyepiece or extension into a diag and then tighten the grubscrews on the rings. That way you can see if the ring is square.
  14. Tecnosky scopes seem to be popping up quite often now on SGL 🙂 Nice review of what seems like a seriously good scope. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
  15. If you insist in regreasing the Skytee I’m sure Jeremy can suggest something. 😁😁😁
  16. I’ve not found it necessary to strip and regrease a Skytee. Adjusting the gear mesh is usually all that’s required. A simple 5 minute job. The TS AZ5 version of the Skytee I had was perfect as it was with nothing needing doing to it.
  17. The Skytee can be very smooth but as it’s a low cost mount a bit of adjusting may be needed to achieve this.
  18. Can’t beat the Skytee II for value. Not exactly a precision bit of kit but performs far better than the sum of it’s parts.. 👍🏻
  19. One factor to consider when looking at some of the AZ mounts is do they need a counterweight? The AZ75 doesn’t need a counterweight..
  20. The AZ4 doesn’t have slo-mo controls unlike the AZ5 but will carry a bit more weight than the AZ5.
  21. The Rowan AZ75 looks interesting and sure it will be on sale soon.Perhaps a bit overkill for a 102 frac but nthat’s not a bad thing. 😁
  22. This new crop of doublets being sold by FLO, TS, Altair and Tecnosky really are great performers and seem like a step up over the SW doublets optically.
  23. The ES and the Altair extenders are the same price and having had an ES 2x extender in the past would say the Altair is identical in quality.👍🏻 However have seen copies of the ES extenders on Amazon with oddball names that I would be dubious about. 🤔
  24. We could do with a thread “Who Actually Makes It” to make comparing brands of astro equipment. easier. 🤔
