Hello! Having decided to try and kick-start my interest in the night sky again I thought I'd join the forum; what better way is there to pick up advice!I've got a couple of questions to get me started right off the bat but I'll head over to the Beginner's Advice section for that; I just wanted to say hello here.Happy stargazing!

Goodness, thanks for the warm welcome everyone. We certainly do have nice skies here; even though I'm in a small village and am (sadly) right near a streetlight it never fails to amaze me just how wonderful it is to sit outside on a clear night and admire everything that comes in to view.

Recognising everything that comes in to view is another matter, though!

Could I ask where in Caithness you are, Lianachan?
