Hi from Norwich total NOOB!

Hi!

After a lifelong but passing interest in the skies above, We were finally spurred on by the recent BBC coverage to invest some hard earned cash and try this out as a family hobby with my partner and her 15 year old daughter.

I visited Altair Astro to get some advice and maybe pick up some binoculars and ended up as the proud owner of a Skywatcher 200p with EQ5 mount (?)

I should be picking this up tomorrow and no doubt spend the next few weeks trying to figure out how it all works (any tips would be great!)

So if you are wondering where the weekends clear skies have gone, its my fault, sorry!

Welcome Rob(?) and family. You have chosen a great scope but equatorial mounts take a bit of getting used to at first. Plenty of help and advice here though.

haha, well to be honest I had secretly decided to get something and was looking at the cheaper goto ebay offerings although the 200p was already on a wishlist after some research over the weekend, I just wanted someone to convince me
