    Hello

    Hello good afternoon and welcome.
  3. You could download sky safari onto your phone/ipad, I find the 'tonights best' feature really useful to plan my viewing during the day.
  4. Welcome to the forumGrwmp. Nice telescope you have there.
  5. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/beginner-telescopes.html Would this help?
  6. I've had both, the comments above are spot on but I would add the viewing experience is much better with the 8SE particularly with a low mag (30mm+) 2 inch eyepiece The wobble is quite noticeable when focusing and if it's windy, the goto mount is OK but really needs something more substantial if I'm honest, it's on my shopping list anyway.
  7. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/beginner-telescopes.html The problem is supply in time for Christmas, Covid has played havoc with the supply chain. You might be better looking at the classifieds and trying to find something secondhand. The for sale forum here is good and you could take a look at 'Astro Buy and Sell' too, then there is always the bay of dreams but you'll need to be careful there. Good luck though, it is a wonderful hobby when we get clear skies!
  8. Covid has played havoc with the astronomy supply chain and they are in very short supply right now. I buy all my equipment secondhand to increase my bang for buck so to speak, equipment for sale is generally in very good condition too so maybe worth thinking about. Take a look here for some suggestions https://www.firstlightoptics.com/beginner-telescopes.html check out your local classifieds too. https://astromart.com/classifieds/astromart-classifieds/eyepieces/show?page=1
  9. I made mine http://www.deepskywatch.com/Articles/make-bahtinov-mask.html Two hours work and a whole lot of satisfaction, works wonderfully. Print it off stick it onto black card and cut to suit.
  10. Welcome to the forum. +1 for the dew shield suggestion, the SCT seems to attract dew almost every night I'm observing. 2 inch low magnification eyepieces are a well worth upgrade too.

  14. I recently sold mine for £300, including eyepieces and filter.
  15. Hello and welcome, nice scope choice you'll love it.
  16. Welcome to SGL, astronomy can be expensive but my advice is buy well and buy once and personally I'm happy to buy secondhand to keep the cost down a bit.
  17. Take a look here https://www.firstlightoptics.com/beginner-telescopes.html
  18. The GPS module will insert time/date etc automatically I believe. https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/celestron-skysync-gps-unit.html
