Lunar Eclipse, from Dunure Castle ruins, Ayrshire

Took this as I entered the village of Dunure, a wee bit before the Castle ruins. Groovy sea-fog.

As we were setting up, a quick scene shot. Again, that fog. It was to haunt us later...

...and haunt us it did. We thought the event was a goner before it had even started...

...but perseverance paid-off.

Thanks for all the comments folks. Appreciated all the more given the -14c we stood around in for about three hours. I was regretting not bringing the FLT110, but by totality-time, the Moon was sinking into some yucky mush that would've made any extra resolution null and void anyway...

What a smashing set of images, any one of them gets my vote for picture of the month. I wish I'd taken the trouble to find such a good foreground for mine, but the icy conditions put me off getting in the car.
