Just a initial post to say 'hi'.

Heard about SGL from the ASG (Astronomical Society of Glasgow) and have visited as a guest for the last few weeks.

For a neewbie such as myself, the information gained so far has been very good, I've even enrolled with the OU on S194 Introducing Astronomy as a result.

I've really only started observing via a very old pair of Hanimax 10x50 binos since March this year but decided to take the plunge and ordered the Meade Dob.

It seems SO LONG AGO, the last time I had the opportunity to observe on a clear DARK night, but I live in hope of sight of the Perseid's later in the month, the moon thereafter and the return of Orion (the main culprit in my increasing credit card debt).
