Naughty Neal
The Hermes person delivered my book from Florida today. The earlier pages in the binder book lists New General Catologue Index and various other selected targets from indexs. As indicated it is an American publication and apart from some nebula naming it is very well suited for the UK and Northern Hem markets. Targets covered are double stars and targets up to mag 10, Galaxies, nebulae are listed and Asterism's etc, etc. Cost was a tad under £32 and is a new condition book. Page samples. 5 or 6 pages on the moon. All of the northern constellations covered with listings /positions of the major targets for each constellation. A sample of four/five. F15Rules
I ordered this Move Shoot Move smartphone adapter last week, having seen Stu's excellent Lunar shots using this device to get proper alignment rather than than handholding, which is truly an exercise in frustration! It arrived today, a few days after Steve (@Saganite) received his.. As Steve remarked, this looks a very well made item, all anodised aluminium and with very smooth, precise feeling adjustment screws. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but so far I am impressed. I also ordered the remote Bluetooth shutter, to allow smooth, remote shutter release on my phone. A few pictures to show you the key features..🙂 The informative printed outer carton.. The informative printed outer carton.. A solidly built device oozing quality, even has its' own cloth pouch. A useful user manual with specs sheet showing key dimensions re for example the maximum eyepiece and smartphone dimensions which the device can accommodate. Saganite
As usual Dave's observing skills proved superior to mine. He spotted the minute detail that a remote trigger was an option, and I missed it... 😄 Edited February 29 by Saganite
WolfieGlos
Although technically not a delivery from the post, I picked this one up today from a local camera shop after trading in another lens. Nice to support a local business, and cannot wait to try this one out.

I bought the Baader shoe for my ZS66 but it only fits the C6. I bought the WO shoe for the C6 but it only fits the ZS66. Turns out the WO shoe didn't quite fit the ZS66. It is a little too long and extends past the focusser and rides up on the chamfer of the telescope tube. Aside from misaligning the finder scope, it also made the focusser unrotatable. So I had to take a file to brand new shoe today to taper off its base. 1

To my surprise they sent me two. I put this down to a sincere gesture of across the pond kindness rather than an error 😗.

Not often you get useful astro kit for that price! 1

It spent a lot of time in the fc-100 during my session in Oldcroft (see observing reports) and I was rather impressed for its first light. I am really looking forward to using it with my FS-60. Almost a 7-degree field at 11.5x. That would be class leading for 10x50 bins but I will have 15% more power and 44% more light gathering... These days so much is online or on phone apps, that we often neglect to remember there's nothing quite like a physical book you can hold in your hands, write notes in etc!

It would be great if someone has an APM UFF 30mm or equivalent to compare it against. I love the APM but will sometimes wonder whether one of these would be worth it for the extra FOV
John
Al Nagler kindly loaned me this a few years back to trial - I must give it a go sometime, when I'm feeling strong 😉 (I should have posted this in a months time !) wesdon1
I bought this new few days ago. I already own the 1.25" Optolong L-Pro, but I need the Canon EOS DSLR clip in version too for when I'm using my Canon lenses for widefield astro. I'm slowly building up my arsenal of Narrowband and Broadband Filters, they're very expensive so I can't afford to buy all of them in one go! lol.

Not 100% perfect but much much much better than without. 👍

It does seem like it’s a case of gaining that extra FOV with the downsides being weight and the price tag. There doesn’t seem to be anything to pick between them in terms of optical quality.
Stu1smartcookie
Shout out to RVO who without drama sorted an issue and sent out a replacement item all within 24 hours . That’s great service from a company that knows how to treat their customers. Together with Widescreen Centre I find both a pleasure to deal with . The key is being actually able to communicate verbally . Emails are all well and good but they often cannot convey the right tone . And often are perceived to be rude . Well done Adam and the crew at RVO .

For us Penniless Ones.. the Poor Man's Terminagler...next to an Aero 30mm for scale.. Celestron Axiom LX 31mm, claimed 82deg fov, but its actually wider, c84-85 degrees. It's also heavier than the Nagler, which is why I decloaked mine (and also it's 23mm little brother).. Both are superb eyepieces for low power viewing. Here's a shot of the 23 and 31mm decloaked next to a Nagler T2 12mm for comparison.. I don't ever plan to let this great pair of UWA's go!
