Recommended Posts

Hi,

I would personally like to Congratulate Nick Smith on his amazing Lunar image that has won the Sky@Night Image of the Year.

It was as I remember an amazing night (seeing wise) and this coupled with his experience and equipment capture an astonishing image (which I stare it for a long time).

From one Lunar Imager to Another, WELL DONE ! :hello1:

I remember those images being posted. Absolutely astounded by the quality. Well deserved recognition for Nick's hard work.

Thanks James and everyone else!

Looking back over the year, this was probably the best night, though the window of good seeing only lasted about 45 minutes for me.

Here is a link to the actual image that was published in the magazine

I sharpened this more than I normally would, as I find that images always appear a bit less clear when they are printed than on the computer screen.

Regards

Nick

C'mon Nick come clean just how did you get in orbit round the moon? You must have one hell of a good set of optics in your c11 and a great deal of skill of course. Well done those images are truly magnificent!

Cheers

Dave

I didn't see the images originally but they are superb, no wonder Nick one, I don't remember seeing that much detail in a lunar image before.
