I just recently joined the forum looking for help with an imaging issue. This is my first time on an astronomy forum. So far the forum seems nice and friendly. I live in the US,  more specifically Maryland. I bought a cheapo scope many years ago and wanted better views than the one I had provided. It was a Vivitar. It was not very good. I recently upgraded to an Orion Observer 70 EQ. I didn't want to spend a whole lot in case I decided this hobby was not for me. I could have chosen a larger scope but I stayed in a self imposed budget. I am really enjoying it. I have posted some pictures I took of the moon. I have seen Jupiter and it's moons and I plan to get pictures of it. But now the weather is bad so I can't.
