Room for one more?

Greetings all, from grey haired guy who after 50 years of struggling with a cheap pair of 10x50 bins, has finally gotten around to acquiring something more useful. Have placed order for Altair Wave 115 F7 APO (silver trim) and iEQ45 PRO. Struggled with the choice for sometime: big Dob, C9.25, 190MN etc; but settled on the refractor in the end, mainly for ease of use and maintenance. Use will be mainly for viewing as wife and I have a lot of catching up to do, although we do have a good dark sky location in rural France. AP may come latter when we are a little further up the learning curve ( and have more of a budget ).

The M1DLJ name tag marks me out as a radio amateur ( -.-.  --.- ), also mad keen on satellites and space tech in general.

Going to need some advice on accessories at some stage. Have started out with 24mm and 8mm Hyperion EPs, but need to know more about Barlow's (which? 2" 1.25" ?) and filters (lunar, nebulae etc), so interested in any recommendations.

Anyway, can't wait the get hold of the kit, after a life time waiting, end of July seems aeons away. Plenty to read here though.

Hi Ray and welcome to SGL, understand the Altair 115 is a very nice scope, you also have good eye pieces in the Hyperions. Simple afocal photography may be within your grasp, as the Hyperions have two threads at the eye end to accommodate the close coupling of camera equipment, (--... ...--) enjoy :)
