Hey everyone,

My name is Pete and I'm just beginning in the pursuit of astronomy.  The bug bit me not too long ago after taking my dad's old Jason 313 refractor on an equatorial mount (not properly used at the time, of course) into the backyard and gazing at the moon, Jupiter, and Saturn -- the holy trinity for beginners, I suppose.  After that, I was hooked. Two days ago, after doing quite a bit of internet research and reading recommendations for beginners, I picked up a Zhumell Z8 with the stock 30mm and 9mm EPs as my first scope.  The weather here hasn't been cooperative the last couple nights, so tonight will be my first night getting out under the stars with it and I couldn't be more excited.  I hope to learn a lot from everyone here as I delve further into this new obsession.  Cheers!

- Pete
