My name is Paul, and I live in Broxbourne. I've had an interest in astronomy since i wes young, but since looking at the moon through a cheap telescope just after christmas, I'm looking to take it up as a hobby. I'm hoping to purchase a telescope in the near future, and joined SGL to get some information to help get me started, as this seems to be a very helpful and freindly place for a total newbie like me!

I know Broxbourne very well as I lived there for many years and went to Broxbourne school.

I lived in Graham Avenue just off Bass Lane.

Thanks for the warm welcome

The name is a sort of abbreviation of my first and last names. When I started work at my firm years ago there were 2 or 3 other Pauls there as well, so I was called mr pig to avoid confusion, and the name just stuck.

As for light pollution, its not ideal looking from my back garden, but I'm sure I'll find somewhere better near-by for observing.
