  1. Meade 5000 Series 2X Telextender (Barlow) for sale, supplied in original box. 2" Fitting with 1.25" Adapter. A very high quality barlow lens in very good condition (the box is slightly tatty, as can be seen in the photos), only used a handful of times as I moved over to astrophotgraphy. £95 ono including UK postage
  2. Celestron C9.25 with Starbright coatings. Bought second hand for a project that never came to anything. Bob’s knobs fitted, two inch diagonal, vixen dovetail, dew strap, all included. Some minor cosmetic issues on the tube and end cap, but optics, whilst dusty and with the odd dew spot, are in great condition and have never been cleaned. There's one tiny ding in the tube which I’ve tried to photograph, and which does not affect the performance in any way. £550 ovno Collection only from Glasgow or delivery/meet up in the Central Belt.
  3. Sky-Watcher Evostar 120ED DS-Pro, 120mm Objective, focal length 900mm, f/7.5 These high-end telescopes feature premium Ohara FPL-53 extra-low dispersion glass for the ED element, which significantly reduces chromatic aberration, and top quality German Schott glass for the matching Crown element. This was second hand when I bought it and has been housed in my observatory for the past five years. Baader Diamond Steel Track Focuser Fitted, aluminium flight case, Bhatinov Mask and Telrad finder are included in the sale. I’ve attached a picture of M42 taken through it. There seem
  4. Skywatcher Reducer/Flattener X0.85 for ED120, with 2” nosepiece. £100 ono, includes UK postage See my other advert for matching ED120. Any questions please drop me a line.
  5. Hoping to be down that way next weekend, so I shall call into the campsite. BTW, I was at the cottage the past few days and managed to get a sky quality meter average reading of 21.83 on Thursday night. Pretty dark and it's only two fields away from Drumroamin campsite. Cheers, Martin
  6. That's helpful. I need to do the same with mine and I think I have a SW dovetail somewhere. My Megrez 72 is my grab and go scope and I now have it on a Giro mini with counterweight bar and weight, so your solution should make it balance perfectly.
  7. I'll be popping into the star party as I have a place nearby. I've been to the harbour inn in Garlieston, didn't think much of it. The Steam Packet Inn in the Isle of Whithorn is really nice, but a distance. Wigtown has a couple of pubs, one of which is in the CAMRA guidebook for 2012, but can't remember which one - lol. Hopefully catch up with you all, especially the CSOG'ers, a week on Friday. Cheers, Martin
  8. Thanks for that. Maybe this time I won't miss Sky at Night
  9. I saw a bright one about an hour and a half ago. I'd just popped outside, looked up to see a whitey, yellowish one streak across the sky - nice. Martin
  10. Yup, that's Neil English, of Astronomy now fame. He is a poster here. I have his Skywatcher 12" Flextube Dob. Collected from him in person. Nice guy to do business with. Cheers, Martin
