  1. I say any exposure ( no pun intended ) is good for our hobby, even if the facts are err slightly skewered. Most ppl out there only think astronomy is the realm of the professional astronomer, not laymen like most of us. Lets unite, not fight chaps!
  2. What about before the electronic age, pre 1950s, weren't they still producing some fine long f/l images at the major observatories??
  3. Helloooo.... are you still here?
  4. Now who said twinkle, winkle, little star... was just a nursery rhyme eh?? Plenty of technological meaning behind it!
  5. Read somwhere, twinkling means bad, no idea why, perhaps someone in the know could explain....??
  6. While on the subject of EQMOD, What's the max length recommended for the TTL to serial cable? I don't have a setup for the laptop on my lawn, and besides keeping it further away under cover means i don't have to scramble to cover mount and laptop when it decides to pee down unexpectedly

  8. My understanding was in fact that ST4 talked direct to the mount, so less delay, and in fact pulse thru the hanset needed a translation??
  9. dont want to fork out more money, besides, how does this connect to a leisure battery, that was my original question?
  10. Thanks TJ, ye I ordered a EQ6 Syntrek from Rothervalley, best price @ £695 incl carriage So, let me clarify, does the gamepad just plug into PC via USB? no special adapter required?
  11. fine, but how does it communicate with mount/eqmod?
  12. Thanks for sharing, really impressive sequence!
