  1. Beautiful image Luc. I don't know why Neil felt the need to mention the Damian image. I think your image is worthy of high praise without the sly comparison.
  2. How many frames did you capture?
  3. Thank you all for the kind comments.
  4. This is my first image for 5 or 6 years and my fist one with my new scope, bought from a member here, Highburymark. Only a 500 frame avi as I seem to have lost the knack of correct setup and balance and coudn't keep the image on screen for long. Hopefully things will come back to me in time. DFK camera, x2 barlow and Celestron C6 Cass / Mak. Processed in Registrax 3.
  5. Thanks for the advice all. Unfortunately I sold the OMC some years ago when I took a break from astronomy. Must edit my sign file!
  6. I'm interested if this is still for sale. PM me please.
  7. I am planning on getting back into lunar and planetary imaging after a 5 year break. I dug out my 8 inch newt from the shed the other day and found that I really struggled to get it onto the mount. I think age is catching up with me. So, I need something a bit easier to manage. I'm thinking of either a Skywarcher Skymax 127 mak/cass or a Skywatcher Evostar 120 refractor. Which one is best suited for hi res lunar and planetary imaging?
  8. Sky 7 Telescopes Mars previewer II isn't compatible with Windows 7. Does anyone know of an alternative?
  9. When I image Jupiter I always use a x4 Powermate. You certainly have enough aperture for high powers but you must be spot on with scope balance and tracking if you are going to keep the image on the chip for any length of time.
  10. Nice images Jarvo. I envy you your clear horizon for the Mars image. I won't be able to attempt it for a while yet.
  11. Thanks guys. Clayton, I have a decent x2 barlow but doubling it with the x4 powermate gives an image that is too dim. I'm toying with the idea of getting a Tal x3 barlow to double up with?
  12. GRS and Io's shadow. 8 inch Newt, DFK21 and x4 barlow 1300 of 3000 frames.
  13. I'm a bit late posting this. 8 inch Newt, DFK21 and x4 barlow. 2000 of 2500 frames.
