Hi there,

My name is Adrian and I'm a retired IT person located in Leicester.

I'm only a month into this hobby and finding it facinating.

My other interests include Ham Radio, fishing, music especially playing techno and cars.

Hey Ade, welcome to SGL. I dint recall you mentioning fishing over on EMS?? Im an avid fisherman too. What's your preferred area? Growin up in devon i used i do Lot of sea angling but also carping. Since i moved to leicester a decade ago i got into canals and rivers sepcies hunting based on time of year. Now i have moved to Leamington i need to "scope" out whats what here with rivers and lakes etc

I mainly fish the muddy ponds. I'm a season ticket holder for the Makins Fishery at Wolvey. 18 lakes to go at so anything from Carp to Roach. Where and what depends on what I feel like on he day. Have several poles and a selection of rods including Carpers.

Have done sea fishing years ago when on my hols.

If you fancy a session let me know....

Cool. I dont have masses of gear like the serious "matchmen" I've a small margin pole (pole fishing not really my bag), couple of quiver tips, some waggler rods for floating for the silver fish, and a couple of carp rods with whychwood extremis freespin baitrunners and shakespeare bite alarms etc. i am more of a pleasure angler than anything, going for mixed bags on the day and using variety if tactics, waggler, stick float, ledger, swimfeeder, bolt rigs (carp mainly). Yeah would be good to have a session sometime :)

Hi Ade welcome from me ,I am also a radio ham so you use the repeaters 2m ?, I mainly use HF ,sstv welcome to,Sgl mad the cold nights

Hi Pat,

Mainly HF these days but used to be into VHF 2m SSB and contest working with our club as G4WAR. Also was into packet some years ago.
