just finished week 2, that was a definite step up, but did ok on the quiz,

Just in process of imaging it between clouds and snow showers just hoping for a nice clear spell to get a good run too windy for scope so currently imaging it at 200mm [emoji3]

It's supposed to be clear from about 12:30 am for about 3 hours. But u know what the forecasters are like [emoji3]

Well gave it up as a bad job as the snow was just getting worse but managed 1x25sec exposure at 200mm in the 3 hours i was out.

Horay clear sky's and just found the little glow in the sky with my useless pair of 10x50 binoculars easy to find once you look at the map

So I noticed a bit of clear skies so Lugged my EQ5 out and piggy backed my Canon 600d with LP filter was hoping to get a few more images but only managed to get 3x 1 min exposures and got Taurus and a bit of Pleiades, I'm not 100% sure but if you look on the bottom edge opf the image I think I may have a bit of Lovejoys nucleus.

Phew, just finished week 2 of the Orion course. I have to say it was certainly a step up from week 1, but still managed to get full marks on the quiz (cos I am a swot lol). Well done on the photos this evening chaps! It certainly does look like comet Lovejoy just making an appearance on the bottom of your photo Sam I'm really looking forward to Thursday. It promises to be a very interesting evening. Is everyone hoping to attend?

I've been using this link to locate comet Lovejoy. It's been invaluable over the past couple of weeks when clear skies have allowed for decent viewing.

Clear skies have come again so I'm trying to get an orion widefield image! Unfortunately lovejoy has gone behind the house amd i live in a back to back so that's knackered my life up. However M42 is looking pretty good! Considering I've got a street light just under orion. I'll get something up shortly!

Just ordered 15x70 celestron binoculars as my 10 x 50 are useless can't seem to get a single image with them

Yay, finally got to see C/2014 Q2 (Lovejoy), at the minute it makes a near equilateral triangle with the Pleiades and the Hyades. Well chuffed, blumming cold out there though

You've definitely got it in that image Sam although the image is on its side?

It's the orientation of my dslr piggy backed on my mount, I haven't quite figured out how to rotate the image yet so I'm going to have to ask you to rotate your head as you look at it lol

It's only on It's side if there's an up in space which there isn't ha ha!

Hahaha yep! I'm not gping out with the scope much since it's cold but tonight I thought I'll give the new filter a go and see what i can get with it. I'm quite impressed

Turns out I've possibly wasted an hours worth of data! My battery started dying so my mount stopped tracking! Not impressed

Actually i got it wrong. That's a single 90 second exposure. My stacked version is pretty Rubbish
