Hi all,

Well, it happened. Talk of comet ISON re-ignited the astronomy fire that I once had. I've been an avid amateur astronomer since the '60s, but in the last 10 years or so, life, and other hobbies, took the forefront.

But, now I'm back! Got out the old Dynamax 8, cleaned her up a bit, and started observing again.

However, I really got the fire back - I'm going to replace the Dynamax with a more modern instrument - one that doesn't constantly lose focus and have erratic tracking. And, at my age, I'm tired of the long set-up times before I can start observing and photographing.

So, I'm in the market for a 11-12" Cass - and currently looking at the Meade 12" and the Celestron 11 Edge HD.

Hope to find the time to converse and share with everyone here.

Hi Mikey welcome to the lounge,

it's nice to hear you have rekindled your passion for

this great hobby, with the kit you have in mind it sounds

like you mean business.
