Hi all, this is my first post here.

I've been interested in astronomy since I was a cub scout, a long long time ago, when I won the Penguin book on astronomy for doing some badge or other. Life got in the way and it was only this year that I got my first 'scope. Its a well used 6" Fuller Scope. I was not expecting much but it blew my socks off when I saw Jupiter for the first time, four moons and the major bands. Wow! Also I knew we were whizzing through space at a fair old lick but it skipped out of the eyepiece faster than Mr Bolt on a very fast day. The original Fuller tripod and mount is taking some getting used to so might change this in the near future. I've also fitted a Telrad to aid targeting.

I'm now looking forward to some crisp clear nights when the Fuller can strut its stuff!

Hi and welcome to SGL. Your comments remind me the first time I saw Jupiter in a small refracting scope many many years ago and had the same emotional experience that stays with you forever. Have fun. All the best, Bob
