Hi Dean and welcome to the forum. Regarding your scope, you might find that changing the red dot finder to one that is easier to align with the scope and one that you can dim will certainly make a difference when trying to locate objects. I would recommend having a look at this one as it's small and aesthetically suit your size of scope, though the Telrad is also very popular. I know Celestron include planetarium software with the scope but many here use a free piece of planetarium software called "Stellarium" which you can view here. It's very easy to use with plenty of features on it including the ability to configure it to your exact viewing location and an advance date/time calendar that will allow you to project the evening sky forward to any time in the future to see what will be coming up and at what time. This feature is particularly useful if your sky view is obstructed in some way and you need to know how long you have to wait for your chosen object to come into view. :grin: :grin:
