Hi, myself and my partner are fascinated by the night sky and are planning on getting a 200p dobsonian for our first scope. Have got stellarium, had that for a while now, few books and a pair of 12 by 50 binoculars. Not the best but better than the naked eye for now.

Not planning on the photography side of it (leave them stunning shots to the experts) so will be just visual. We just wish we had the scope now because its about perfect out there for once lol

Anyways a big HELLO from us and a cloudless Stoke on Trent :clouds2::D

Good to see some of us have some nice Stargazing Weather, great choice on the scope, although I'm sure you're familiar of the new scope curse. Anyway, enjoy! Oh, and welcome to SGL!

Hi and welcome on board both of you - great choice of scope - you'll have loads of fascinating nights out with it - if you could just hold off for one more night just to let the rest of us star starved gazers have a chance lol

welcome to SGL.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Great choice of scope which looks like you've been reading some of the advice that's been given out on here. Binos will certainly compliment your ability to find objects with perhaps a right angled finder or Telrad later down the road, being your first upgrade to finding those trickier targets.

Clear skies for now

James
