New to Astronomy

Just got retired from USAF not too long ago and just waiting to start school at George Washington University. Always had a love for whats above and now I finally have a chance to focus on Astronomy. I'll be majoring in Astrophysics so I figured better go ahead and get aquainted with the sky...telescope is in the mail and will be here in 7 days! My mind is a veritable sponge so whatever information I can absorb from this site rest assured it will be greatly and highly appreciated. Thanks and have a great weekend!
