The parcel man showed up today with a long box. Inside was a Zeiss tripod and a Telemator mount, which is marked ( Q1 ) quality one, oh happy day !

I've been looking for one of these since we acquired our Telementor. The only thing is, I don't have

thirty miles of electrical extention cord to reach the Blaenavon site.

Dorothy and I are currently looking for economy flights. We've got a lot of maintenance to do, but at least there's an old scope in the barn thats probably itching for some photons. Aww schucks, just thought about it, the voltage is different in California, so guess I'll have to forget about the extention cord idea: oh well.

Just bought a timer remote for my 350d on fleabay for £11.23. I'll fork out for a serial to usb and a modded camera cable in the future.

Well i have to laugh i bought a 200p dob second hand and today the base came fingers crossed the ota comes. Other wise I'll be glueing my tal in the gap..

you need extra hight to the pads to "brake"the top section after fitting the lazy, you need to do the two jobs at the same time to compensate for the thicker bearing ring

Ah right gotcha lenny those ptfe slide guides aren't designed for that then? what are the breaks and any links to where i can buy them.

wicks diy, teflon pads you use them to add some "drag" or the mount will spin to free. you need to add just enough to hold the top but still move free and not too tight that it jumps
