I guess, technically, a reflector with a coma corrector should be listed as a catadiatropic. A reflector without a coma corrector is merely half a catadiatropic... ;-)

I have used all 3 types at different times. They are all good at showing lovely views in their own ways. At the moment I am really enjoying using a 4" refractor. It gives lovely wide field views, as well as high power views of the planets, so it is a really good all rounder. It gets my vote.

First came a 3" 'frac, second a 7" Mak and, somewhere in the future, the third may well be a Newt.

Most likely it'll be a 6" or 8" Dob, though to continue with the progression it should really be a 16" light bucket ;)
