Hello and welcome to sgl steve. The 150pl is a very good scope for the money and will open up a whole new universe. I got mine in feb and haven't been disappointed with it, I've got the bug though and want a massive one with all the trimmings. I live just outside plymouth on the edge of dartmoor so the light polution is very low if at all. It's a great place to view from and the 150pl is easy enough to transport, I carried mine on foot.
