  1. Thanks for all the likes and comments, have been considering adding RGB stars but not sure if its necessary. Anyone think it might improve ? or just leave it alone as its good as is.
  2. Just had a quick play using Mac Photos' editing and there is some colour there.
  3. I would look at Gimp for processing as a starter. Very similar to Photoshop but free.
  4. That's interesting, so it sounds like it can be controlled via Ekos. All it needs in addition is some 12v outputs, temp/humidity sensor and pwm dew heater outputs and it a Pegasus Pi Box.
  5. I think your Losmandy plate is upside down or are you using the Vixen to clamp to your mount ? Have a look on https://www.astroboot.co.uk/AstroBoot# might be something on there that suits.
  6. Carte Du Ciel I think its called or maybe Stellarium.
  7. Cheers Dave, got to love the Dark Structure enhance script in PI. Ended up applying it twice at different stages.
  8. Very nice, the polar cap is definitely shrinking.
  9. Excellent work Dave, lovely range of colours.
  10. Here's my latest effort, NGC-281 The Pacman Nebula. At approximately 9200 light years away it's quite a large beastie covering around 40 arcmins. It was discovered by E. E. Barnard way back in 1883. Total integration time was 900 minutes even split between Ha, Oiii and Sii. All processed in Pixinsight.
  11. That's a superb close up Brian.
  12. Lovely image and well framed.
  13. You can go up to 60m i think with active extension cables but in reality it's hit or miss whether they work for astro or not. For long distance you are better off using a mini PC or Raspberry Pi and linking to them via an Ethernet cable.
  14. Instead of the two boxes you could get a Pegasus Powerbox, plug everything into that then the Pegasus into the Pi. Add the Pegasus into you Ekos Profile and you have full control.
  15. Pretty good, though the dark background suggests you might have clipped the black point and lost some of the feint detail.
  16. Not too bad, I think somewhere along the processing you've pushed it too far and ended up with some black blobs. You have to be very careful with processing, little steps instead of bug jumps are best. Sometimes re-appyling the same process a few times in smaller steps.
  17. I think the rework looks superb, the yellow stars especially have calmed down and the greenish tint is subdued.
  18. Very nice, will look great in colour.
  19. That's come out really well, lovely image.
  20. Superb image, you've done well to show the dark stuff.
