  1. Wait for the Stellarmate Pro, that works with pretty much everything and it will not be restricted to ASI kit like the ASIAIR is...
  2. In a word, if the tablet only has 2.4ghz WiFi, then it will NOT work with 5ghz WiFi on ASIAIR... ๐Ÿ‘
  3. The ASIAIR is for ASI cameras and kit only, although it uses the superb INdI software and is a basic copy of the superb Stellarmate OS software, I think there is a change in the software to make it only work with there cameras....so I would look into that a bit deeper before you take the plunge...
  4. Simply stunning.. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘
  5. Yes, but I am sure that โ€œloadโ€ is well under 18kg... ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘
  6. Maybe I am missing something, or just not read the whole thread, but after taking out a second mortgage to buy one of these, how come you have to carry on spending on these Adapter plates, surely it comes ready to use..? ๐Ÿ˜€
  7. I found that on coldish dull days and even when raining, it was not an issue, and stayed dry, but as soon as the sun came out, I guess it was causing warm air under the cover, which then was condensing on my mount at night... โ˜น๏ธ
  8. Hmmm, I had pretty much the same set up, but my cover was not a telegizmo, and it got covered in condensation, with loose fitting and air vents in the cover, so does the TG cover make all the difference do you think, and stop warm air, and ultimately condensation, under the cover, with itโ€™s silver liner..?
  9. So do you have anything under the cover to prevent condensation, and do you secure or leave open for air to circulate...?
  10. As has been stated above, 27kg is really just a guideline for visual, and to reduce by 1/3 for imaging purposes, so that would be approx 18kg, which is actually equal or even a bit less than the EQ6 payload for imaging...๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค” go figure...
  11. Go Enjoy Christmas and donโ€™t worry about this now.... ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘
  12. Similar to mine shown above for ยฃ10... ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘
  13. Glad to hear it, merry Christmas... ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป
  14. Where would I find the Altair Astro housing..?
  15. Excellent set of images there.... ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘
  16. Just tried this and works really well with Astroberry, as it is Raspbian based... Runs super fast on an external USB 3 240gb M.2 SSD https://www.stewright.me/2019/10/run-raspbian-from-a-usb-or-ssd-on-a-raspberry-pi-4/
  17. I have had big issues with condensation on my EQ8 under a waterproof, breathable, cover with extra vents for circulation, so had to ditch that idea... โ˜น๏ธโ˜น๏ธ
  18. I think you have quoted the wrong person... ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€
  19. Maybe they will stop sending all this junk up there now....one can hope anyway... ๐Ÿ‘
  20. Yes...they are in the wrong orbit... ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  21. Well I used an 80mm scope, but some do use 50mm finders, all will work, but some better than others...but none will be affected by the gearing, thatโ€™s not an issue... ๐Ÿ˜€
  22. I was a complete newb when I bought mine, and had never even seen a Linux PC never mind used one.. It is very straight forward to get the roi up and running with either Stellarmate or Astroberry, I would stick with the free as Astroberry for now as SM is not cheap and very buggy ATM, as itโ€™s not properly supported under the rpi4, whereas Astroberry is...and itโ€™s free...
  23. What cover did you get..? As I have had a big issues with condensation, under mine.. โ˜น๏ธ
  24. Also you donโ€™t really need to use the ST4 port, just use pulse guiding with the serial cable from handset to PC, and USB cable from the camera to PC, that works even better and one less cable...just choose the telescope Ascom drive in PHD, for the mount, and the camera driver for the camera, instead of choosing โ€œon cameraโ€ which is for ST4 guiding...
