Apparently the older EQ8 mounts were heavily discounted on price, hence the newer ones gone up, that’s what FLO have reported anyway...

What we need is someone to bring out an rpi4 case that will also hold an SSD drive too...or 3D print one...

What about an M2 SSD would this work, and even smaller....

64 bit raspbian is out now...

Stellarmate is already out on rpi4, on Ubuntu mate and or KDE...both work very well....

As I understand you can’t boot from SSD, or USB drives, so you have to have the boot partition on an SD card, is that correct...? The thing is with an SSD you loose the small form factor, and it becomes as big as say an Intel NUC...

How well does it all run on the new rpi4....faster..??

www.dewcontrol.com i had one made there... Or cut the rj45 off and re fit your own, they just crimp on, and only use three wires..

They are very different cameras, and are used very differently, but both give excellent results, I would always go for CCD myself... personal choice..

Oh, ok well I know you can on the version 8 skywatcher Mount..thought it might be the same...oh well worth a try, but it still could be the issue, as the encoders are constantly trying to correct the mount position, and so is the autoguiding...

Hello, i am new to this game and am yet to buy my first proper mount, but I have done a lot of research on this and other mounts as they are on my wish list... just an idea, appologies if you already know this, but have you turned the encoders off while guiding, as it seems they don’t play well together and fight against each other, as they both want to do the same job, is this maybe your issue..? I know it can be an issue on the skywatcher mount that has the encoders, think it’s the version 8... Like I say I am new to this so I may be completely off the mark, but good luck.. DP
